I know that news:
the aakash 2 tablet will be getting os upgrade to latest Android 4.0 os.
please understand ,aakash 2 tablet and ubislate 7+ not a same product.but datawind was the manufacturer of both tablet.aakash 2 tablet only for student(not for commercial sale)with government offering price tag.
ubislate 7+ commercial version of upgrade aakash tablet.aakash 2 tablet had capacitive touch screen,improved processor,improved battery,and front camera.but datawind not finalised aakash 2 specification.
our ubislate 7+ had only 700mhz processor and 256 mb ram.do you know android 4.0 minimum required 1ghz processor and 512 mb ram.but our ubislate had less than minimum specification so ubislate 7+ how to support android 4.0.
so tuli said about aakash 2 tablet.

Android ICS upgrade will be avaliable to user only after six to eight week later.

first of all u know one thing govt. till now confused with selection of manufacturer for aakash 2.and minister kapil sibil told 700MHz processor with a 3200 mAh battery,256MB RAM and 2GB of internal storage with price of rs.2499/-
Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of DataWind, which was engaged in a project Aakash, reported that second-generation Aakash aka Ubislate 7+ will updated to latest Android operating system version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich . The new Tablet PC Ubislate 7+ will go on sale in India in the next two to three weeks.
It is unclear how the software will be distributed by air or through a computer, but that it will be available in the near future, there is no doubt.
Most interesting is that the
hardware of Aakash 2 does not match even the minimum requirements of the operating system, Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Ubislate 7+ has only 256 MB RAM, 2 GB of internal memory
and a single core processor with a clock frequency of 800 MHz.
If you remember,
Google has refused to renew its original smartphone Nexus One to ICS, although the device has 512 MB of RAM.
Most likely, experts in software development company

u just search in google all experts are early waiting to watch how data wind upgrade os (from 2.3 to 4.0) with same config.(256 ram,800 mhz single core processor).
And u know one more govt not satisfied with datawind, so they searching better alternate (till now searching), then how device will release within two weeks.

After so many delays,one more delay by datawind has came in front. Ubislate 7+ which was going to be launch to 15th of april has now postponed to 25th of april and delivery is going to be start from second week of may.

dear friends,
As 1/2 year has passed in just wait of delivery of ubislate 7+ due to so many delays,now one more delay has announced by datawind.
Tab which was going to be launch on 15th of april is now going to be launch on 25th of april OR 1st week of May.and delivery will end by 2nd week of June month for those who have paid in advance and after that delivery for those who have just booked the tab will be started.
Many of the people have received the e-mail regarding the confirmation about their payment which they have made.
They also get the info that ubislate 7+ will be delivered with in 6 weeks(1.5 month) with the mail.
As delivery is going to be start in may so many of the people are going to be with their tab till the end of may month and some of the people have still to wait.
While contacting with datawind customer care,they also providing different information regarding the delivery if call differently.so we can believe them in such condition.
And also the launch date has not announced officially so launch can easily be delayed to the month of may.
So don't believe datawind easily and those who have not made the payment should hold on and just wait.
Above information is provided only after contacting to datawind and from other resources..

Yesterday I registred a complain aganist datawind at http://core.nic.in/Default.aspx for delay in giving the ubislate7+ and today morning i got a call from the consumer forum asking me to recomplain giving some more evidence and details about it.
But just few miniute before i got the news at http://ibnlive.in.com/news/datawind-launches-ubislate-7c-and-7-tablets-prices-start-at-rs-2999/252385-11.html giving details of lunching of Ubislate 7+.
I called to daawind and they too confirmed that today it got lunched and within next 10 days i will get the product. I have booked it on Dec 16 and sent cheque on 15 jan

Hi all,
I have booked my Ubislate7+ on 05/11/2011 @ 4:30 PM :-) but i have paid for it on 12/02/2012. So it indicates they will prioritize based on Payment we made.
Yesterday i got a reply from C/c that i will get the delivery of my Device within 15th May to 31st May.
But i don think so i will get my tab within above date ranges, because i got several mails with various date ranges from last 3 months. As it's already launched now lets wait and see..
but don't loose Patience...!!!

I HAVE JUST SPOKEN TO THE DATAWIND CC:TOLD THEM THAT I HAVE BOOKED
UBISLATE 7+ ON 18.01.2012 AND PAID THE ADVANCE PAYMENT OF Rs.2999.00 BY DD ON 23/01/2012 THROUGH CITY UNION BANK KUMBAKONAM TAMILNADU PAYABLE TO DATAWIND INNOVATIONS IDBI BANK AMRISTER AND SENT THE SAME BY SPEED POST AND THEY HAVE RECEIVED IT ON 28/01/2012 FOR WHICH THEY HAVE SENT ME THE CONFIRMATION MAIL ON 23/03/2012.
THEY ASSURED ME THAT I WILL GET IT BETWEEN 15.05/2012 AND 21/05/2012 WITHOUT FAIL.

I am COD customer and I got below email yesterday (I booked my tab on 21/12/2011...They are saying if I do advance payment now then they will send product in July'12, so I just thinking what will happen if I dont do advance payment...They will send in August, September or December :'( :-

Hi friends, I got my Ubislate 7 through courier which I bought from Seventymm.com. It has following problems. May you help me please... 1. It detected no sim card and now it shows everytime in aeroplane mode and there is no way to remove it. 2. Does it supports phone and GPRS facility, blue truth & no Speaker Sound as narrated in specifications on Seventymm.com.? 3. How can I use Internet on it? And if it does not support Phone and GPRS facility, should I not move to consumer court against Seventymm.com. Please help me..how can I run Internet on this tablet ubislate 7? Regards
